These industrial grade battery chargers are specifically designed to be powered by AC generators. All of the GPU models are designed with simple and time-proven controlled reactance transformers and saturable reactor circuits, which require the least amount of AC power, little or no maintenance, and provides a true constantly tapering charge rate. The IBE charger is regulated by the "On Charge" battery voltage to control the output DC current. The charging rate is held at the optimum gassing point to ensure long battery life and reduced watering intervals. The charger is protected against overloads, short circuits, line voltage surges and reversed battery polarity connection. Design features include Full Magnetic Control that automatically allows for full taper charge from high rate to maximum safe finish rate. The charging rate is easily readjusted to accommodate aging batteries or batteries with weak cells. It is recommended to use a generator rated for twice the kW shown in the chart below. Remember to derate the generator output 3% for each 1000 feet above sea level. These chargers are available in 120VAC, 240VAC, or 480VAC input voltages. For 120VAC input on units rated at more then 4kW, add 10% the shown price.   It is recommended to use a generator rated for twice the kW shown in the chart below.
